So what does “Employee Owned” mean? ESOPs are retirement plans similar to 401K plans. However, one major difference that an ESOP has over a 401K plan is that participants do not contribute their own money into the plan. Instead, shares of the company are contributed to all employees for retirement. Funds can be made available before retirement to help our employee owners achieve their goals.
During a troubling economy or upheavals in business, ESOP employees tend to be much more motivated for success. At Central States, we find that a strong company culture where all boats rise on the same tide helps push us through any circumstances thrown our way.
Upon joining the company, our employees become participants in the Central States ESOP without having to put any of their own cash or savings on the line. Instead, the share value accumulates just like it would in any other retirement account. As the company grows, the share value increases and over time your retirement savings can also grow.
Every year, employees are given stock in the company above and beyond their normal paycheck.
