At Our Core

Our Story

Since 1988, Central States has produced metal roofing and siding, now for thousands of customers across America.

In a market that is flooded with inferior products and poor customer experiences, we focus on supplying a premium product that will last for decades with service you can count on. Our steel is 100% recyclable and engineered with multiple layers of protection to defend against fading, denting, weather, and rusting. When you choose steel for your project, choose Central States, and be confident in the company and the product.

Jim Sliker

Chief Executive Officer

See it, believe it and work for it – the ethos that propels Central States CEO Jim Sliker in the boardroom and on the sports field. A believer in working, learning and playing as a community to find opportunities for growth, Jim puts this into practice in his own life. His enthusiasm and willingness to explore help us challenge the way things are done, discovering new ways to exceed expectations in everything we do.

Chad Ware

Chief Financial Officer

Fulfilling the company purpose of providing financial freedom to all our employee owners is what drives Chad each day. This is accomplished through the success of the Central States Manufacturing Employee Stock Ownership Plan (or ESOP). Chad’s role in accomplishing this purpose is to help Central States become more agile and to empower our employee owners to make well-informed, data backed decisions to drive the business forward.

Tim Ruger

President

As President, Tim oversees our 11 manufacturing facilities as well as Central States Manufacturing shared services directors.   Through his life experiences and 25-plus years of expertise in a professional setting, there are things learned from both sides of life that Tim applies every day. One of those is that you cannot do everything. Trusting your team with the autonomy to do their job well is so important. If you try to do everything – you will never succeed. Another valuable learning is that people react in different ways to good and not so good circumstances.

Jennifer Davis

Intentionally inviting others, making room, and achieving together is at the core of the hospitable leadership philosophy to which Jennifer Davis strives. She serves as the first CMO in company history: overseeing the marketing, strategy, and innovation functions while serving as the executive leader of our growing Central States Building Works business.

Richard Allen

President, Elevate Structures

Richard Allen is a proponent of practical actions and forward thinking which embodies a leadership philosophy centered on innovation, continuous improvement, genuine care, and a commitment to customer-centric values. The keys to innovation and continuous improvement are to foster a risk-free environment to share ideas, listen well and hard to your team, recruit a team of great people, and provide a set of effective tools, all of which generates exceptional outcomes for both our customers and employee owners.
